Lighting Designer
Amie Schulenburg
The Fairy Street Residence is an architectural gem where lighting was designed not to lead, but to follow — tracing the lines of the architecture and drawing out its beauty with quiet precision.
A subtle Japanese aesthetic runs through the heart of the design, and the lighting honours this sensibility at every turn. Low-level lanterns and softly glowing elements are positioned with care throughout the home, their warm light echoing the graceful curves and recurring circular forms that define the architect's vision. Rather than imposing itself on the space, the lighting feels like a natural extension of the design - considered, restrained, and deeply intentional.
Inside and out, the result is a home that breathes. Light and shadow work together to create a sense of calm and connection to the surrounding landscape, reinforcing the client's vision of a residence that feels as much a part of its environment as it does a retreat from the world.
At Fairy Street, lighting does not simply illuminate - it brings the architecture to life.
